Jacques Laffite


Jacques-Henri Laffite is a French former racing driver who competed in Formula One from 1974 to 1986. He achieved six Grand Prix wins, all while driving for the Ligier team, 1976-82 & 1985-86.
Laffite started his F1 career with Frank Williams, racing for his team during 1974 & 1975, gaining Frank Williams his best result at the time, 2nd place at the German GP in 1975. He returned to Williams for the 1983 & 84 seasons with minimal success. Laffite then returned to Ligier, scoring 5 more podium finishes before retiring in 1986 after a crash at the British Grand Prix.
